INDUSTRIAL CONTROLLER

Job Responsibilities

The industrial controller acts as the Business Partner to the Plant Directors of the Asian Plants and local controlling teams, serving as a crucial interface between HQ and the local chinese entities.
He/she will be responsible for managing standard and actual costs as well as industrial investments across the region. This scope includes overseeing the financial performance of group factories and monitoring key suppliers of raw materials and finished products to ensure alignment with corporate standards.

Main responsibilities:

• Cooperates with the local Chinese controlling teams in daily financial activities and month-end closing procedures to ensure alignment with corporate standards.
• Responsible for supervising the management of standard costs, actual costs, and industrial investments across Chinese plants;
• Conduct in-depth variance analysis on production costs and explain factory results to HQ Finance and Operations Stakeholders
• Monitor cost structures related to Chinese suppliers (Raw Materials & Finished Products).

Financial Reporting & Closing (oversight role)

• Supervise the Month-End Closing process executed by local Chinese teams to ensure industrial data submitted to HQ is accurate and timely;
• Review and validate the financial reporting packages prepared by local controllers before submission to Group HQ, ensuring data integrity.
• Establish and enforce procedures that local teams must follow to ensure factory control and adherence to strict reporting timetables.
• Evaluate the performance of various plant activities based on the reports generated by local teams and ensure the achievement of all goals

Financial Planning (Budgeting) & Forecasting
• Coordinate and guide the Budgeting and Forecasting process prepared by the local industrial area and legal entities in China.

Operational Analysis & Costing
• Design and maintain the methodology for standard & actual costs of all plant products, ensuring local teams apply them correctly.
• Monitor Key Industrial KPIs and correlate them with financial results to provide insights to HQ.
• Lead the development of complex analysis to support factory cost controls and understanding of manufacturing variances.

Harmonization & Methodology
• Harmonize controlling procedures and methodologies across various Chinese plants to ensure data consistency and comparability with Group standards

Job Profile

Education and professional experience:

- Bachelor/Master’s degree in Economics, Accounting or Engineering management;
- At least 3 years of proven professional experience in cost accounting and budgeting in a manufacturing environment
- Former experience with business practices is highly desirable
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Knowledge of SAP ERP is highly preferred
